Favorite Fishing Story:
My cousin and I went on a guided fly fishing trip on the Kankakee river in southern Illinois. First time I had been fly fishing so god knows how irritated the guide was trying to teach me how to do it. I was caught in my old ways of traditional fishing. Only thing I could do right was roll cast. We were pulling in smallies and rock bass. I wasn’t catching anything worth while and my cousin was catching 4-5 pound fish. We got on the last hour of the trip and I was set on catching something. Threw a crawfish fly on some rock faces and finally hooked into something big. Fought the fish for a good while and as it came up to the boat a huge gar flew in and snatched my fish. Broke my line off and swam away with my fish. I have the gopro video from it still.
